Cuttack: Odisha Cricket Association is all set to kick off the inaugural Odisha T20 League at Barabati stadium in Cuttack on Sunday.
A team each representing Cuttack, Bhubaneswar, Keonjhar, Puri, Rourkela and Sambalpur will take part in the league and will compete for the title with a total of 17 matches played between them from September 20 to 29.
Two matches will be played at Barabati each day, with the first beginning in the afternoon at 2.30 pm and the second in the evening from 7.30 pm.
The OCA-organized tournament is aimed at giving emerging Odisha cricketers more exposure to competitive T20 cricket and display their skills before a wider audience.
OCA secretary Sanjay Behera said the league would play an important role in in creating opportunities for young cricketers from across the state.
“We have made all arrangements to give the best platform to our state players. It will bring together talented players from different districts and provide them with an opportunity to play competitive cricket at a high level,” Behera said.
