Bargarh-Padampur Rly Link: Project Entrusted To Odisha Govt Controlled ORIDL, Centre Clarifies
Bhubaneswar: The Centre on Tuesday clarified that the Bargarh-Nuapada Via Padmapur railway line has already been assigned to Odisha government controlled ORIDL.
Responding to various media reports regarding the promises made by the Union Ministers in connection with the railway line, Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw said Commerce and Transport Minister Tukuni Sahu of Odisha had written a letter a few days back regarding approval of the project. The situation based on the facts has been communicated to Tukuni Sahu by a letter on November 21, 2022, he added.
“Odisha Railway Infrastructure Development Limited (ORIDL) has been entrusted with the project to connect Bargarh-Padmapur-Nuapada. It is to be mentioned here that ORIDL is controlled by Odisha Government,” said the Railway Minister.
Stating that the Centre has given In-Principle Approval (IPA) to ORIDL, Vaishnaw said the DPR approval of the project is under consideration of the Odisha government.
He further said the Centre has allocated Rs 10,012 crore for development of Railways in Odisha. As many as 57 railway stations are also being redeveloped under Amrit Bharat Station scheme, he added.
Seeking the state government’s cooperation, he requested to resolve the matters of land acquisition, forest clearance, law enforcement during implementation of the projects for overall development of Odisha.
