New Delhi: A Delhi court on Monday pronounced Ariz Khan and his accomplices guilty of killing inspector Mohan Chand Sharma in the Batla House encounter case of September 2008. The incident had inspired a Bollywood movie named ‘Batla House’, starring John Abraham.
Khan was on the run for 10 years before being finally arrested in February 2018.
A Delhi Police team, led by Special Cell inspector Sharma, got wind of Indian Mujahideen commander Atif Amin and his accomplices’ den at L-18, Batla House on September 19, 2008, six days after five serial blasts in Delhi had killed 30 people.
The subsequent encounter led to the death of Sharma.
