BBSR AIIMS Forms ‘Resident Doctors Association’ For Better Operation

The All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Bhubaneswar, recently held elections for the first time to form Resident Doctors’ Association (RDA). Around 409 interns and residents voted to elect the Executive Committee for the association of interns, junior residents and senior residents.
The Executive Committee of the first ever RDA to be formed, comprises
• President – Dr Dibya Sundar Mahanta
• Vice-President – Dr Gyanendra S Mahapatra
• General Secretary (GS) – Dr Sandeep Abhijit Pattnaik
• Chief Treasurer – Dr Sameer Sekhar Patra
The members were given the Oath of office by the Dean of AIIMS Bhubaneswar, Dr S C Mahapatra. The Medical Superintendent, Dr S N Mohanty and Director of Administration, P K Ray, were also present at the Oath taking ceremony.
Speaking to OB Correspondent over phone, Dr Sandeep Abhijit Pattnaik, the GS of the newly formed association, expressed his gratitude to all residents, interns and the administration for their support in getting the elections conducted smoothly.
Agenda of RDA
Dr Pattnaik, putting forth the agenda of the Association, said, development of basic infrastructure and improvement of patient care in the relatively newer tertiary care (apex) hospital shall be their primary aim.
