Bhubaneswar: The Bhubaneswar Cycling and Adventure Club (BCAC) has undertaken a Golden Triangle Relay Run to spread awareness about Climate Change and make people responsible for its protection.
The Relay Run was flagged off at 7 am on Sunday by CMD, Odisha Police Housing and Welfare Corporation, Lalit Das. The event was also attended by Transport Commissioner Sanjeeb Panda and BCAC Secretary Ajay Kumar Nanda and members.
The Relay Run, is a novel concept that connects the most significant cultural heritages of Odisha through the routes of Golden Triangle – Puri, Konark and Bhubaneswar. The 151-km relay has 15 runners covering 10 km individually. The cyclists of BCAC is providing escort for the runners through the entire route.
The prime objective is to spread the message of good health and active life with a responsible living on the earth. This is a Climate Protection Awareness Initiative of BCAC and with the message “Climate – Time to Protect”, is a completely new adventure activity in Odisha.
The relay run, which began at Lingaraj Temple in Bhubaneswar, will cover Pipili, Nimapara, Sun Temple of Konark and Jagannath Temple in Puri, Sakhigopal, Pipili, It would conclude at the starting point around 10 pm.
Some of the runners participating in the relay run are Biswajit Tarai, Sipra Hota, Kamlesh Soni, Manoj Prusty, Ajay Nanda, Priyaranjan Paltasingh and Ironman Soubhagya Kumar Rath.
