BCCI Ethics Officer Examines Virat Kohli Over Conflict Of Interest Complaint

BCCI ethics officer Dinesh Jain has said that they have begun examining the allegations on cricket India skipper Virat Kohli after a complaint by Sanjeev Gupta over a conflict of interest on July 5.

On July 4, Sanjeev Gupta, a member of the Madhya Pradesh Cricket Association filed a written complaint to BCCI ethics officer-cum-ombudsman Justice (retd) DK Jain and several BCCI executives such as BCCI president Sourav Ganguly and CEO Rahul Johri. Gupta has claimed that Virat Kohli violated the BCCI constitution which prohibits an individual from holding multiple positions.

Jain confirmed while speaking to PTI that the board will be looking into the allegations against Virat Kohli. The matter is being examined to see if a case is made on it or not. If a case is made, Virat Kohli will be allowed to put forward his response.

Virat Kohli is the captain of cricket India and one of the directors of Cornerstone Venture Partners LLP which manages talents and commercial interests of cricketers like Virat Kohli, Rishabh Pant, KL Rahul and many more.

However, Kohli has no role to play in the talent management company of Cornerstone Sport and Entertainment Private Limited according to Gupta, Repbulic World reported.
