Bhubaneswar: The renovated BDA City Centre, popular as Nicco Park, was thrown open to public on Thursday.
The only theme park in Odisha capital had been lying defunct after being devastated by cyclone Fani in May this year.
According to sources, the Bhubaneswar Development Authority (BDA) spent Rs1.5 crore on its renovation.
The entry fee to the park has been fixed at Rs 100 while Rs 20 will be charged for each paid ride. There are nine rides in the park.
The amusement park was set up by BDA and Nicco Group along the city’s largest natural drain at Sachivalay Marg in December 1998. Spreading across 24 acres, it was a major crowd puller during its initial days. However, the park lost its sheen over a period of time due to lack of maintenance.
