Jeypore: A BDO in Koraput district has landed in a soup after he is heard demanding money from sarpanches on behalf of the Collector in an audio clip that went viral on social media.
The telephonic conversation of the BDO of Laxmipur, Dillip Patnaik, is reportedly recorded in the audio clip. During the conversation, a woman sarpanch enquires about Rs 30,000 to be collected from sarpanches and executive officers. Patnaik is heard saying that the amount would be given to the collector.
On the other hand, the collector said he was not aware of the matter but assured that action will be taken on getting written complaint with tangible evidence.
“I have not received any complaint from anybody. I came to know from the Project Director (PD) regarding the allegation. Action will be taken after receiving a written complaint,” sources quoting Koraput collector said.
