Beware Of Misinformation On COVID-19 Vaccine: Odisha DMET Director
Bhubaneswar: The Director of Medical Education & Training (DMET), CBK Mohanty said on Friday requested people not to fall prey to wrong information about COVID-19 vaccine and avail the same without any fear.
Mohanty said the government has stated that it will be providing the vaccine free-of-cost and advised people to register through the government-introduced app only. He also asked people to beware of fraudulent apps and news on the virus and its vaccine.
To ensure smooth conduct of this massive vaccination process in India, the Centre introduced an application called Co-Win (Covid Vaccine Intelligence Work). One has to register through the app to get the vaccine.

Mohanty said he too is a part of the Health department but would like the health workers to avail the benefit first and become safe. Informing about the availability of vaccine, the DMET Director said when it would be made available in the market, the vaccine is likely to be priced between Rs 700 and Rs 800.
The DMET statement comes in the wake of Health Minister Harsh Vardhan’s request to all states and union territories to put an end to disinformation campaigns regarding the vaccine.
“Union Ministry of Health has been proactively carrying out the preparations for the rollout of COVID-19 vaccine, in collaboration with states and UTs and all stakeholders, over the past couple of months to ensure that the preparations for roll-out are on track,” the ministry was quoted as saying in a statement by PTI.
The state government has prepared a database of 3.27 lakh health workers to be vaccinated in the first phase.
