Mumbai: The ‘Maine Pyar Kiya’ actress Bhagyashree, who had quit Bollywood post marriage, is all set to make a second comeback on the silver screen.
According to a report published in entertainment portal PinkVilla, Bhagyashree has been signed to play the role of Kangana Ranaut’s mother in the movie ‘Thalaivi’.
While Kangana plays the role of politician Jayalalithaa in the movie, Bhagyashree will be seen essaying the character of her mother Vedha.
“Bhagyashree will play the character of Jayalalithaa’s mother Vedha, who was christened Sapna when she decided to act in movies. Thalaivi’s mother has an extremely emotional and important role to play in her life,” a source told PinkVilla.
However, Bhagyashree didn’t reveal much about her character in the movie, but she did say that most of her scenes in ‘Thalaivi’ are with Kangana.
“I can’t reveal what my role is right now. But it’s a beautiful role and when they approached me for it, I loved it and immediately said yes to it. Kangana is a fantastic actress and I remember her joking about me leaving movies and why I should have never left. She’s such a great performer and a person that she adds to her co-star’s performance as well. I can’t wait to go back to the sets again,” said the actress.
‘Thalaivi’, which revolves around the life of Jayalalithaa, was all set to hit the big screens on June 26, but because of the ongoing pandemic, the shooting of the film had to be stalled.
Besides ‘Thalaivi’, Bhagyashree will also be seen in Prabhas and Pooja Hedge-starrer ‘RadheShyam’.
