New Delhi: A nationwide anti-quota bandh called on Tuesday received response with normalcy being hit in states like Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan. Heavy security arrangements were put in place while internet services were restricted in a few sensitive areas.
Rail Roko attempts were made in Bihar while shops and school transport remained shut in Bhopal, the worst-affected city during the April 2 bandh called by the Dalit groups in which at least eight people were killed.
Prohibitory orders under Section 1 were imposed in Rajasthan and mobile internet services blocked in the state capital as precautionary measure, reported PTI.
In Odisha, normalcy was disrupted at several places due to the bandh called by groups on social-media against caster-based reservation.The Biju Patnaik University of Technology (BPUT) postponed its semester examination, apprehending any untoward incident.
