Mumbai: Akshay Kumar, whose recent release ‘Bhooth Bangla’ is performing strongly at the box office, admitted that he often finds himself caught between the debate of hard work and luck.
The actor admitted that while effort is important, success ultimately depends on luck being in your favour.
Akshay, who is currently hosting the quiz-based reality show ‘Wheels of Fortune’, stated: “Aisa main manta hoon, main apne experiences ke upar bata raha hoon, mujhe aisa lagta hain ki hardwork ki jarurat toh hain aur main jamm kar mehnat aur hardwork karta hoon, lekin mere career mein ya mere zindagi mein luck jyaada kaam aaya hain. (I believe this based on my own experiences. I feel that hard work is definitely necessary, and I put in a lot of effort, but in my career and life, luck has played a bigger role).”
Akshay went on to say that in his day-to-day life, moving from one set to another, he meets thousands of struggling actors, many of whom may be better looking or even more talented than him.
However, he believes that what often holds them back is luck not being with them, despite their best efforts to make it in the industry.
Akshay used this belief to connect with contestants Sarita, Jaikumar, and Tanvi on the show, reminding them to give their hundred per cent while also respecting the role of luck in bringing them to that stage.
Speaking about his journey, Akshay has been a part of the Hindi film industry for over three decades, featuring in popular films like ‘Khiladi’, ‘International Khiladi’, ‘Tu Anari Main Khiladi’, ‘Hera Pheri’, ‘Housefull’, ‘Kesari’ and ‘Jolly LLB’, among many others.
