Bhubaneswar: After DGP-IGP conference, Pro-Khalistan separatist Gurpatwant Singh Pannun has now threatened to disrupt the 18th Pravasi Bharatiya Divas convention, scheduled to be held in Bhubaneswar from January 8 to 10.
In a purported video message to a city-based, Pannun has warned against holding the event, which celebrates the contribution of the Indian diaspora, being hosted in Odisha for the first time.
Again dubbing the city of temples as a terror city, he has called upon his supporters and followers to disrupt the three-day event that will see NRIs from across the globe converging here to explore the state’s vibrant traditions, natural beauty and historic landmarks. “Bhubaneswar has once again proved to be a terror city and not a temple city as it is hosting ‘Pravasi Bharatiya Terror Divas’. Disrupt and nib in the bud India’s raw agencies efforts to rebuild this spy network which was dismantled by the Trudeau and Biden administration after the assassination of Shaheed Nijjar. This event, masquerading as a cultural celebration, is being used as a platform to further India’s agenda of espionage and targeted violence against pro-Khalistan Sikhs,” he said.
He also warned people to not venture along Bhubaneswar airport to Janata Maidan stretch. “From Bhubaneswar airport to Janata Maidan, stay away, stay safe and stay alert. Pro-Khalistan Sikhs are going to disrupt and nip in the bud the part last effort to rebuild the spy network which is responsible for the violence, cross national abductions in several countries,” he concluded.
In November last year, Pannun had threatened to disrupt the three-day all-India conference of DGPs/IGPs attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, and National Security Advisor Ajit Doval, prompting Odisha Police to re-evaluate security arrangements.
