Montreal: The Biju Patnaik International Airport has bagged the prestigious Airport Service Quality award along with five other airports in the Asia Pacific region in recognition of providing the best customer experience.
The airport has been chosen in 2-5 million category by Montreal based Airports Council International. It handled 34.77 lakh between April and January this year.
Two other airports from India, the Chandigarh airport and Devi Ahilyabai Holkar Airport in Indore, were chosen for the award in the 2-5 million passengers (departure) category.
The ASQ Departures programme measures passengers’ satisfaction across 34 key performance indicators.
Kempegowda International Airport, Bengaluru, was ranked the first airport in the world to win both a Departures and an Arrivals award.
“The Airport Service Quality Awards celebrate the achievements of airports in delivering the best customer experience and they represent the highest possible accolade for airport operators around the world,” said ACI World Director General Angela Gittens in a statement.
New Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport and Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport in Mumbai were also honoued in the over 40 million passengers (departure) category.
