Bhubaneswar All Set To Host Sub-Junior & Junior National Aquatic Championships

Bhubaneswar: The Indoor Aquatic Centre at Kalinga Stadium here will stage the 40th Sub-Junior and 50th Junior National Aquatic Championships from August 6 to 11.

The inaugural ceremony of the Nationals, being jointly organised by the Odisha State Swimming Association and state government’s Department of Sport & Youth Services, under the aegis of Swimming Federation of India, will be held at 4 pm on Tuesday.

The closing ceremony will be held at 5 pm on August 11.

Events will commence at 8 am during all days of the Championship.

Boys and girls will be divided into three age groups:

Group I – 15 to 17 years (born in 2007, 2008, 2009)

Group II – 12 to 14 years (born in 2010, 2011, 2012)

Group III – 10 to 11 years (born in 2013, 2014).

Competitions will be held for following events:

Junior Group I & II (Boys & Girls) — Freestyle 50, 100, 200, 400, 800, 1500m; Backstroke 50, 100, 200m; Breaststroke 50, 100, 200m; Butterfly 50, 100, 200m; Individual Medley 200, 400m; Freestyle relay 4×100, 4×200, 4×100 medley relay

Sub-Junior Group Ill (Boys & Girls) — Freestyle 50, 100, 200, 400m; Backstroke 50, 100m; Breaststroke 50, 100m; Butterfly 50, 100m; Individual Medley 200m; Freestyle relay 4x50m; Medley Relay 4x50m.
