Bhubaneswar: Odisha’s Siksha ‘O’ Anusandhan (SOA) Deemed to be University has once again figured in the prestigious Times Higher Education (THE) World University Subject Rankings. This is the second consecutive year that SOA has been placed in the 601-800 ranking bracket, in both Engineering & Technology and Computer Science categories.
As per the rankings released on Wednesday, SOA is ranked in the 601- plus bracket in Clinical, Pre-clinical and Health categories.
In September, SOA as a university made it to the 1001-plus category in THE World University Rankings.
The ranking is based on a set of five broad indicators that represent key areas in higher education excellence — teaching, research, citations, industry income and international outlook.
SOA is a multi-disciplinary deemed to be university with nine different constituent institutes. It was placed 20th in the university category in India in the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) placings in 2020, while Institute of Medical Sciences and SUM Hospital, SOA’s faculty of medicine, and Institute of Technical Education and Research, SOA’s faculty of engineering and technology, were placed 23rd and 34th in the country, respectively.
The Institute of Dental Sciences, SOA’s faculty of dental sciences, was ranked 12th in the country by NIRF.
