Bhubaneswar: The COVID-19 tally in the Odisha capital touched 9001 on Friday with 354 new cases being reported in the last 24 hours.
Among them, 150 are quarantine and 202 local contact cases.
According to the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC), 12 more cases have been reported from the 7th Batallion, eight from Jagamara and five from Behera Sahi.
Four more staffers of the Health Department have also contracted the virus.
Two more infected have a travel history to Kolkata and Chennai.
Over 200 local contact cases have been detected in the city for the second consecutive day. Five more from 7th Battalion and six are from Nayapalli’s Behera Sahi are local contact cases, the civic body said.
The last 24 hours also saw 202 more patients recoveries from the infection and two more succumbing to the virus.
With 38 deaths and 5419 recoveries, Bhubaneswar now has 3535 active cases.
