Bhubaneswar: A day after the Odisha government declared 14-day lockdown in four districts and Rourkela, Bhubaneswar reported a record spike of 124 COVD-19 cases.
With this, the affected tally in the city has gone up to 1043.
Among them, 52 are local contact cases and 72 are quarantine cases.
While 68 persons, including seven employees of media houses, have been infected by previous patients, over 40 cases have been reported from city slums. Fourteen among the new cases have travel history outside the state and other hotspot districts in Odisha.

“Further contact tracing is still continuing. Primary contacts and nearby houses are being quarantined, sanitised and these will be under active surveillance,” the post on Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation Twitter handle said.
On the other hand, 54 more patients have been cured of the infection.
With 11 deaths and 457 recoveries, Bhubaneswar now has 574 active cases.
