Bhubaneswar: The COVID-19 death toll in Odisha touched 380 on Thursday with eight more patients succumbing to the virus in the last 24 hours.
The new fatalities included four in Ganjam and one each in Dhenkanal, Bhubaneswar, Cuttack and Puri.
The Health Department identified the deceased as:
- A 59-year-old male of Bhubaneswar who was also suffering from Diabetes, Hypertension & Chronic Kidney Disease.
- An 82-year-old male of Cuttack district.
- A 58-year-old male of Dhenkanal district.
- A 57-year-old female of Ganjam district who was also suffering from Diabetes, Hypertension & hypothyroidism.
- A 48-year-old male of Ganjam district who was also suffering from Diabetes & morbid obesity.
- An 82-year-old male of Ganjam district who was also suffering from Hypertension.
- A 62-year-old male of Ganjam district who was also suffering from Diabetes, Hypertension.
- A 76-year-old female of Puri district who was also suffering from Diabetes, Hypertension.
With these eight new casualties, the virus has so far claimed 166 lives in Ganjam district, followed by 52 in Khurda, 24 in Sundargarh, 19 in Cuttack, 18 in Rayagada, 16 in Gajapati, 10 in Puri, nine each in Sambalpur and Nayagarh, eight in Balasore, six each in Kandhamal and Bhadrak, five each in Bargarh and Keonjhar, four in Jajpur, three each in Angul, Malkangiri and Kendrapada, two each in Koraput, Dhenkanal, Mayurbhanj, Jagatsinghpur and Kalahandi and one each in Jharsuguda, Nabarangpur, Balangir, and Sonepur.
