Bhubaneswar: The mercury soared to 35°C in Bhubaneswar for the first time this season on Thursday.
The state capital recorded 35°C at 2.30 pm, senior meteorologist Umasankar Das posted on X.
This came a day after the maximum temperature touched 37°C in the state. Jharsuguda was the hottest at 37°C, followed by Bhadrak (36.2°C), Balangir (36°C), Angul (35.7°C), Bhawanipatna (35.5°C), Titilagarh (35.5°C), Parlakhemundi (35.5°C), Sonepur (35.3°C), Malkangiri (35.2°C) and Bargarh (35.2°C).
Bhubaneswar and Cuttack recorded 34.8°C and 33.2°C respectively.
Meanwhile, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast a gradual fall in the night temperature by 2-3°C across Odisha during the next two days with no large change thereafter. Shallow to moderate fog may also occur during early morning hours on Friday and Saturday at one or two places in North Coastal Odisha.
