Bhubaneswar Hops On ‘Mo Bus’ To Escape Traffic Fines
Bhubaneswar: Jittery drivers in the twin cities are taking to public transport to escape the stiff traffic fines that kicked off on September 1. The result: The premier bus service ‘Mo Bus’ posted record ridership on Friday.
Capital Region Urban Transport (CRUT) MD Arun Bothra tweeted that Mo Bus, which has an average ridership of 70-72 thousand people, recorded 95,000 on Friday. He even quipped that this is “side effect of new traffic rules”.
Every day about 70-72 thousand people ride in #MoBus.
I just received the daily report of @CRUT_BBSR on ridership & revenue. Today MoBus had 95,000 passangers. This is the highest number of people we have served in a day ever.
