Bhubaneswar: A man was arrested in Bhubaneswar last night for allegedly using police sticker on his vehicle to evade toll gate payments.
The accused has been identified as Aditya Sethy, a resident of Kanak Vihar under Chandrasekharpur police limits.
According to sources, Sethy was detained during a routine night vehicle check on Monday. He was pulled over after cops spotted a police sticker on his car. When questioned, Sethy claimed to be Sarat Kumar Sethy and produced a fake Fire Services staff identity card. Amid inconsistent responses, he was taken to Chandrasekharpur police station for further interrogation.
During questioning, he confessed his real identity and revealed that he works as a driver for a cab-hailing app. He admitted to using the fraudulent identity primarily to avoid paying toll charges during his trips. Police have seized the vehicle and produced the accused in court.
