Bhubaneswar: When Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation sealed her office at Palaspalli here for COVID-19 norms violation, BJP MP Aparajita Sarangi had said that the action smacked of partiality and vindictiveness.
In her letter to Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, Bhubaneswar MP on Saturday drove her point home by citing innumerable instances of violation of COVID-19 regulations at BJD party headquarters as well as by the ministers, MIAs and party workers.
“While no action has been initiated against such violations, the sealing of my office, that too, without detection of a single COVID positive case in my office or among my supporters who were present in the office, does deserve answers from your government,” she wrote.

Aparajita alleged that the sealing of her office was intended to prevent her from discharging her responsibilities as a public representative. “I am now forced to hold my office on the roads of Bhubaneswar for the next 15 days. Under any circumstances, the wheel of progress/development will not stop. I would expect visible and demonstrative action in the afore-cited cases within the next 15 days which, in this context, will project you in an appropriate light before the people of Odisha. I would also like to reiterate my commitment for adhering to COVID norms which I have been doing till now. There is no question of their violation,” she added.
In her letter, she also shared photographs of BJD leader and minister of state for Home Dibya Shankar Mishra without a mask. Mishra had earlier written to Union minister of state for Home Nityanand Rai about her birthday celebration on October 8 and accused her of showing utter disregard to COVID-19 guidelines.
