Bhubaneswar: The Railways on Friday announced cancellation of Bhubaneswar-Pune Express on August 20 from here and from Pune on August 22 in view of safety-related modernisation work.
The Bhubaneswar-Mumbai Konark express will run via diverted route from Bhubaneswar between August 16 to 22 and from Mumbai between August 17 to 23.
The modernization work is being carried out between Wadsinge and Bhalwani Stations in Solapur-Wadi Railway Section in Central Railway jurisdiction for the commissioning of the double line.
During this period, the train will run via Manmad-Aurangabad-Lachmipur-Parli Vaijnath-Vikarabad from both the directions, East Coast Railway said in a statement.
It also said that information is still awaited about the resumption of traffic between Pune and Mumbai route. Heavy rain has affected smooth traffic movement on this section, leading to train delays and cancellation.
Due to the late running of the incoming train, Konark Express will leave from here on Thursday at 8.30 pm instead of 3.25 pm.
