Bhubaneswar: The state capital on Monday recorded 39.4 degree Celsius, the highest in Odisha.
An evening bulletin of the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said that apart from Bhubaneswar, the day temperature also rose sharply in most places in the state.
The places where the temperature rose to 35 degree and above are Balasore (35.4), Chandbali (36.2), Cuttack (37), Angul (37.7), Baripada (38), Jharsuguda (36.6), Sambalpur (36.2), Hirakud (36.1), Talcher (37.1), Bhawanipatna (36), Balangir (37), Titlagarh (37.6), Malkangiri (35), Sonepur (35.8) and Nayagarh (36.5).
The IMD has said the maximum day temperature will be above normal by 2-4 degrees at many places in Odisha during next 4-5 days.
