Bhubaneswar: The COVID-19 tally in Odisha capital touched 4171 on Tuesday with 109 new cases been reported in the last 24 hours.
Among them, 60 are quarantine and 49 local contact cases.
Barring one with travel history to Kolkata, the remaining 59 quarantine cases are contacts of previous patients.
Four cases each have been detected from New Forest Park, Old Town and Unit 8 in the city. Six more employees of private hospitals have also tested positive for the virus. Two more cases have been reported from Salia Sahi.
Among the local contact cases, four are from Badagarh and three from Vivekananda Marg.
“Further contact tracing is on. Primary contacts and nearby houses are being quarantined and sanitised. These will be under active surveillance,” the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation tweeted.
The BMC also informed about 134 more patients of the city getting cured of the infection. Six each from Tapaban Basti and Sailashree Vihar have recovered while five are from Badagarh. Nine employees of two private hospitals have also been cured.
With 22 deaths and 2807 recoveries, Bhubaneswar now has 1339 active cases.
