Bhubaneswar: With an overnight addition of 118 positive cases, the COVID-19 tally in Odisha capital touched 3472 on Wednesday.
Among them, 71 are quarantine and 47 local contact cases.
Of the quarantine cases, 10 are employees of the health department while seven are from Reserve Police Colony near Nayapalli and another six from the same locality. Two security guards of a central government hospital have also tested positive for the virus.
Barring three with travel history, all quarantine cases are contacts of previous patients.
“Further contact tracing is on. Primary contacts and nearby houses are being quarantined, sanitised and these will be under active surveillance,” the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation tweeted.
On the other hand, 90 more patients have been cured of the infected. The highest of 14 are from Unit I followed by seven each from Adivasi Gaon in Salia Sahi and Balabada Basti. Seven employees of government and private hospital have also recovered.
With 18 deaths and 2151 recoveries, Bhubaneswar now has 1301 cases.
