Bhubaneswar: The last 24 hours saw 187 more people testing positive for the virus in the Odisha capital, taking the total infection to 4358.
Among them, 104 are quarantine and 83 local contact cases.
The Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) informed that 18 employees of a hotel at Jaydev Vihar and eight of private hospitals have been infected.
Barring three with travel history, all quarantine cases are contacts of previous patients.
Of the local contact cases, three each are from Laxmisagar, Sailashree Vihar and Ganganagar.
“Further contact tracing is on. Primary contacts and nearby houses are being quarantined, sanitised. These will be under active surveillance,” the BMC added.
The civic body also informed about 107 more patients getting cured of the infection with the highest of 11 from Salia Sahi.
With 23 deaths and 2914 recoveries, Bhubaneswar now has 1415 active cases.
