Bhubaneswar Reports 23 Local Cases, Seven From City Slums; Total 314

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha capital saw a surge in COVID-19 cases on Monday with 25 persons testing positive for the virus in the last 24 hours, taking the total to 314.

According to Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC), 23 are local contact cases and the rest two detected among those in home quarantine.

Three of the local contact cases have been detected in private hospitals in the city and two of a family who provided service at a quarantine centre have also tested corona positive while seven patients are from city slums.

The huge number of local cases has triggered concerns over community transmission of the disease. As many as 30 cases were earlier reported from different slums in Bhubaneswar.
