Bhubaneswar: The COVID-19 tally in the Odisha capital rose to 258 on Thursday with 38 fresh positive cases.
The Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) tweeted that of the 38 new patients, 25 are from home quarantine and 13 are local contact cases.
The 25 home quarantine cases are as follows:
—Five cases: 74 yrs male, 36 yrs and 73 yrs female, and two one-year-old children of Jaydev Vihar near Mayfair linked with an earlier positive case with travel history to Mumbai.
—Eleven cases: 29 yrs, 26 yrs, 42 yrs, 20 yrs, 28 yrs, 37 yrs, 23 yrs, 27 yrs, 24 yrs, 21 yrs, 32 yrs all male of Mancheswar area, near Pratidin office with travel history to Uttar Pradesh.
—Four cases: 47 yrs, 28 yrs, 26 yrs, & 32 yrs all male of Mancheswar area, near Pratidin office with travel history to West Bengal.
—One case: 44 yrs male, currently staying in a paid quarantine facility; with a travel history of West Bengal.
— Two cases: 36 yrs female & 40 yrs Male of Unit-8, Delta with travel history of Mumbai.
—One case: 24 yrs male of Unit-6, near Radhakrishna Mandir with travel history of Bangalore.
—One case: 38 yrs male of Mancheswar area, near Pratidin office, linked with an earlier positive case.
The 13 local contact cases are mentioned hereunder:
—Four cases: 14 yrs & 18 yrs female, 11 yrs and 22 yrs male of Siripur, Laxmi Bazar slum linked with an earlier positive case with travel history of Mumbai.
—One case: 46 yrs male of Chakeisiani, Hadabai slum.
—Three cases: 23 yrs female, 24 yrs & 26 yrs male, all employees of a private hospital.
—One case: 29 yrs female an employee of another private hospital.
—One case: 39 yrs male an employee of another private hospital.
—One case: 38 yrs female an employee of a government hospital.
—One case: 40 yrs male of Mancheswar, near UP School linked with an earlier positive case.
—One case: 35 yrs male of VSS Nagar, near Hanuman Temple linked with an earlier positive case.
The BMC also said that 14 more patients from the following areas of the city have recovered and are being discharged from COVID hospitals.
—40 yrs male of Unit-4, Sastri Nagar.
—22 yrs male of Dumduma, Phase-I.
— 34 yrs male of Kalinga Vihar area.
—25 yrs male of Palasuni, near Shiva Mandir.
— 60 yrs female of Unit-3, Masjid Colony.
—37 yrs female of Nayapalli, Behera Sahi.
—26 yrs female of Kolathia, Khandagiri.
—28 yrs female of Khandagiri Phase-II near AMRI Hospital.
—36 yrs, 40 yrs, 31 yrs and 36 yrs male, all Railway staff.
—64 yrs male of Bhimpur, near MAA Shakti Hospital.
—27 yrs male of Naharkanta, near Puri Canal road.
Out of 258 positive cases in Bhubaneswar, 127 are active cases and 127 have recovered while three patients have succumbed to the disease.
