Bhubaneswar: The Odisha capital saw 307 more people testing positive for COVID-19 in the last 24 hours, which took the affected tally to 10732 on Tuesday.
According to Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC), 135 are quarantine and 172 local contact cases.
The decline in the new cases would come as a solace for the city, which had seen a record 505, 515 and 404 fresh infections in the last three days.
All new quarantine cases are contacts of the previous patients with the highest of 20 being reported from OUAT colony. Nine more staff of central government hospital have also been infected, besides four government staff.
The local contact cases include three from the 7th Batallion, seven from Baramunda and six from Kharvela Nagar.
“Further contact tracing is on. Primary contacts and nearby houses are being quarantined, sanitised. These will be under active surveillance,” the BMC said.
The civic body also informed about 301 more patients getting cured of the infection.
With 42 deaths and 6635 recoveries, Bhubaneswar now has 4043 active cases.
