Bhubaneswar: In a welcome boost for residents ringing in New Year, the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) has announced the return of the popular street festival Patha Utsav, starting January 4, 2026.
The winter morning event, which has been a tradition since its launch by the BMC in 2016 to promote community engagement, culture, fitness, and recreational activities, will feature three editions across different city zones.
It will be held on Janpath (Market Canteen Square to Ram Mandir Square) on January 4, Jagamara on January 18 and the Infocity area on February 1.
Participants can look forward to a vibrant lineup of live music and dance performances, fashion shows, energetic Zumba sessions, dedicated kids’ zones with face painting, traditional games, art and craft stalls, rangoli competitions, skating demonstrations, mehendi application, yoga and karate sessions.
A highlight will be the ‘Bhubaneswar’s Got Talent’ segment, showcasing local performers, said BMC Mayor Sulochana Das.
She also emphasised the festival’s role in fostering community spirit and providing a refreshing break from daily routines. She noted that schools, colleges, and educational institutions across the city have been notified to encourage participation.
