Sword-Brandishing ‘Pushpa Gang’ Hack Youth In Broad Daylight In Bhubaneswar



Bhubaneswar: A young man was allegedly chased and brutally attacked with a sword by miscreants in board daylight in Phalikiya Basti area under Capital police limits in Bhubaneswar on Wednesday.

According to sources, the victim, identified as D Hari Krishna, was targeted by one ‘Pushpa’ gang le


d by a habitual offender, P Ramulu Rao, over suspected past enmity. He along with his associate Tarun Sethi chased Krishna down the street and hacked him repeatedly with sharp weapons and swords. Krishna has been admitted to a private hospital.

Witnesses stated that tension had been brewing since the previous day following an argument between them. The issue, however, was resolved after police intervened. However, the accused duo attacked Krishna against when he had gone to play cricket.

Interestingly, the duo was earlier seen openly brandishing a sword while riding a motorcycle. They not only terrorised commuters but also filmed their lawless antics to create social media reels.

Sources further stated that Rao is a history-sheeter with multiple criminal cases pending against him. He was released on bail recently.

Meanwhile, police have registered a case and launched a manhunt to nab the suspects in the sword attack case.
