Bhubaneswar: People in Odisha will now be able to fly to Ghaziabad in Uttar Pradesh and Port Blair in Andaman and Nicobar with Air India Express all set to operate daily flight services to these destinations from Bhubaneswar from March 30.
Air India Express, the wholly owned subsidiary of Air India, has released the complete schedule of flights on these two new routes.
Flight No. IX 1621 will depart Hindon Airport in Ghaziabad at 9.20 am and arrive at Biju Patnaik International Airport (BPIA) in Bhubaneswar at 11.45 am. In return, Flight No. IX 1624 will take off from Bhubaneswar at 12.15 pm and reach Ghaziabad at 2.30 pm.
Flight No. IX 1611 will depart from Bhubaneswar airport at 10.35 am with scheduled landing at Veer Savarkar Airport in Port Blair at 12.55 pm. The Flight No. IX 1612 will then leave from Port Blair at 1.25 pm and arrive in Bhubaneswar at 3.35 pm.
On Wednesday, the chief minister’s office (CMO) had mentioned about launch of daily flight services on the two new air routes under the new destination policy of the state government.
Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi had also expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for expansion of the aviation sector and added that these daily flight services will boost tourism, trade and commerce and economic growth.
In January, Air India Express had launched direct flight services from BPIA to Jaipur, Kochi, Lucknow and Patna as a part of the airline’s expansion plan in eastern India.
