Bhubaneswar: The Odisha capital hosted the 2nd Patha Utsav of this season at Jagamara New Road on Sunday.
The stretch from Baramunda’s Nilakantheswar temple to Jagamara was turned into a place of cultural expression and saw denizens braving the winter chill to participate in music and dance, yoga and storytelling sessions from 6.30 am this morning.
They also swayed to soulful melodies and rhythmic tunes of singers Aseema Panda, Satyajit and Rapper Big Deal. Traditional dance performances, including Sambalpuri and Odissi, added to the celebration of Odisha’s rich cultural heritage. Children had fun taking pictures with stilt walkers, clowns, and skaters.
Speaking to the media, Housing and Urban Development Minister Krushna Chandra Mohapatra said that 12 Patha Utsavs will be held in a year in Bhubaneswar, with one event every month.
This season’s first Patha Utsav was held on January 5 at Master Canteen Square ahead of Pravasi Bharatiya Divas.
