Bhubaneswar: The first initiative under the Bhubaneswar Smart City Project (BSCP), the web-GIS portal “BhubaneswarOne.in” was recognized by Geo-Smart India 2019 event held in New Delhi, recently. BSCL was given the “Geospatial Application Excellence Award” for it by Minister of State for External Affairs, General Vijay Kumar Singh. BSCL General Manager Saroj Kumar Swain received the award.
BhubaneswarOne.in was launched by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik in May 2016. Initiated by the Geographical Information System (GIS) branch of Bhubaneswar Development Authority (BDA) in collaboration with BSCL, the project was developed by ESRI India, a pioneer in development of Geo-Spatial software and application solutions.
ESRI India has developed BhubaneswarOne.in on ArcGIS platform.
ArcGIS platform is mainly used for creating and using maps, compiling geographic data, analyzing mapped information, sharing and discovering GIS-based information in a range of applications and managing the database.
The portal publishes a large number of Geo-Spatial data, collected from various government organisations and departments like BDA, Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation,
Department of Health and the Department of Education. It is being hosted on an integrated GIS-based platform for easy use.
At present, ‘Citizens Interface’ has been successfully implemented with base maps, datasets like Comprehensive Development Plan (CDP) maps, revenue data, Airports Authority of India Zone Maps, Point of Interest data etc and other useful GIS functions for citizens.
BDA is in the process of integrating this portal with the Online Building Plan Approval System so that citizens can get information like applicable NOCs, restrictive development areas, CDP land use, cadastral information, etc.
