Bhubaneswar’s COVID-19 Tally Spirals To 3929 With 166 New Cases; 17 From Salia Sahi

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Capital reported 166 new COVID-19 cases, which took the affected tally to 3929 on Sunday.

Among them, 98 are quarantine cases and 68 local contact cases, the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) tweeted.

Of the quarantine cases, 17 are from Salia Sahi and 13 from a quarantine centre. For employees of a central government hospital and two of a private hospital have also tested positive for the virus.

Two among the local contact cases have been detected from Kandha Sahi in Siripur, 2 from Nehru Sahi, and one from Kalyani Sahi Basti.

“Further contact tracing is still on. Primary contacts and nearby houses are being quarantined and sanitised. These will be under active surveillance,” the BMC added.

On the other hand, 113 more patients have been cured of the infection. The city also reported one more COVID-19 death in the last 24 hours.

With 19 deaths and 2473 recoveries, Bhubaneswar now has 1435 active cases.
