Bhubaneswar’s IMS & SUM Hospital Wins Top Prize For Innovative Study On Diabetes

Bhubaneswar: The Diabetes and Endocrinology department at the Institute of Medical Sciences and SUM Hospital, faculty of medicine of Siksha ‘O’ Anusandhan (SOA) Deemed to be University here, won the first prize for innovative study at the India chapter conference of American College of Physicians (ACP), held recently in Lucknow.

The significant study on diabetic complications related to ‘Assessment of Hypogonadism and its determinants among adult men with Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus’ was conducted by DM Endocrinology resident Dr Jaspreet Singh, under the guidance of Prof. Dr Jayshree Swain.

The department had received widespread recognition for its earlier contributions, including best paper prize in ACP India chapter conference last year as well, informed Prof. Swain.

Last year, the department won the top prize at International Diabetes Federation (IDF) conference for its several research papers on Diabetes and Endocrinology-related topics, which were highly appreciated in the medical fraternity for their depth and impact.
