Bhubaneswar: KIIT Deemed to be University has been ranked 8th among global universities in the Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) of ‘Reducing Inequalities’ in the prestigious Times Higher Education Impact Rankings 2022.
The Times Higher Education Impact Rankings evaluate thousands of universities from all over the world on their contributions to SDGs as laid out by the United Nations. Commitment to sustainability across four broad areas — research, stewardship, outreach and teaching – are assessed.
While KIIT is 8th best in ‘Reducing Inequalities’, it has earned impressive ranks of 101-200 in other SDGs like ‘Quality Education’ and ‘Peace, Justice & Strong Institutions’. In ‘Partnerships for the Goals’, KIIT has found a place in the 201-300 ranking bracket out of over 1500 universities from 106 countries.
KIIT is among the top eight universities from India to feature in the list.
KIIT Founder Dr Achyuta Samanta said the No. 8 ranking reflects the enormous work done in the field over the years, and congratulated the Chancellor, Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Sasmita Samanta, faculty and staff members and students of KIIT for the achievement.
