Bhubaneswar: The SOA Deemed to be University here has improved its ranking in the prestigious QS Asia University Ranking for 2021 published on Wednesday.
The Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) Asian University Rankings is a UK-based annual publication of university rankings which featured 650 top universities in the Asian continent.
This year SOA has been placed in the 351-400 bracket in the QS Asia university ranking against the 401-450 category announced last year.
The parameters adopted by QS included academic reputation, employer reputation, faculty-student ratio, international research network, staff with PhD, citations per paper, papers per faculty, international faculty, international students, inbound exchange students and outbound exchange students.
SOA was ranked 20th in the country among universities in the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) this year with the Institute of Medical Sciences and SUM Hospital, its faculty of medicine, being ranked 23rd nationally. In the NIRF ranking, the Institute of Technical Education and Research (ITER), its faculty of engineering and technology, was placed 34th while the Institute of Dental Sciences (IDS), its faculty of dental sciences, was ranked 12th in the country.
