Bhubaneswar’s SOA Signs MOUs With Vietnamese Province & Universities

Bhubaneswar: Siksha ‘O’ Anusandhan (SOA) Deemed to be University signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Department of Education and Training of Vietnam’s Vinh Long province to promote bilateral cooperation in education and training.

According to the MoU, signed on Tuesday, the collaboration is intended to enhance existing friendship and convergence between India and Vietnam in educational activities, cultural exchanges and other activities.

Three other MoUs were signed between SOA and Vinh Long University of Technology Education (VLUTE), University of Cuu Long, Long Ho, and Putin Animal Feed Company Limited, Vinh Long City.

Vice-Chairman of People’s Committee of Vinh Long province Dr Nguyen Thi Quyen Thanh led the Vietnamese delegation.

The MoU between Vinh Long Education Department and SOA underlined mutual cooperation to create learning opportunities for students of both countries and promote mutual relationship and understanding through cultural and student-teacher exchange.

Areas of cooperation will include higher education with stress on information technology, nanotechnology, cyber security, biotechnology and promotion of Vietnamese and Indian cultural studies and exchanges. There will also be focus on cooperation in scientific research and conversion of progress in science and engineering into economic development, with special emphasis on agricultural economy.

The SOA-VLUTE agreement stresses on promoting understanding, strengthen cultural link, create opportunities for exchange of students, faculty members and others and enable VLUTE lecturers to undertake Ph.D programmes offered by SOA.

The objective of the MoU between SOA and University of Cuu Long is knowledge transfer through development of collaborative and multi-disciplinary research projects, organisation of joint academic, scientific and cross-cultural activities, short and long term exchange of research and teaching personnel and students.

The MoU between SOA and Putin Animal Feed Company Limited aims to promote cooperation in soft skill training, consulting and career orientation for Vietnamese students. The Vietnamese company will extend training as per the needs of the market and create opportunities for businesses to interact with students.

Vice-Chancellor Prof. Pradipta Kumar Nanda signed the MOUs. For the Vietnamese, the signatories were Director of Vinh Long Education Department Truong Thanh Nhuan, VLUTE Vice Rector Dr Nguyen Minh Sang, Associate Professor of University of Cuu Long Prof. Luong Minh Cu and Putin Animal Feed Company Limited Director Nguyen Tan Thu.
