Bhubaneswar: Odisha on Wednesday reported the biggest single-day spike of 8386 new COVID-19 cases.
The state had been registering over 6,000 new infections for the past six days.
According to the I & PR Department, 4781 are quarantine and 3605 local contact cases.
Khurda and Sundargarh districts saw 33 per cent of the total cases detected in the last 24 hours.
Khurda reported its highest-ever 1840 positives in a single day, followed by 933 from Sundargarh and 496 from Cuttack.
