New Delhi: Actress Rhea Chakraborty, who is an accused in Sushant Singh Rajput case, has now moved the Supreme Court against the media and Bihar government.
According to a report in Hindustan Times, Rhea has filed a fresh plea in the top court complaining that she is being made a scapegoat in Sushant’s case only for political gains ahead of the Bihar elections.
While opposing a CBI probe in the Sushant Singh Rajput death case, the Mumbai police on Saturday had also alleged that that the registration of an FIR by Bihar Police was “politically motivated”.
In her plea, the actress has also complained about the media trials, pronouncing her guilty.
“Media channels are examining and cross-examining all the witnesses in the case. The petitioner has already been convicted by the media even before foul play could be established behind Sushant’s death. Extreme trauma and infringement of privacy of the rights of the petitioner are being caused due to constant sensationalisation of the case,” Rhea stated in her affidavit.
Citing the above reasons, Rhea has appealed to the SC to transfer her case from Patna to Mumbai.
Rhea also mentioned the suicide cases of actors Ashutosh Bhakre and Sameer Sharma in her plea and stated that media is not covering these cases and only blowing up that of Sushant’s.
“Actors Ashutosh Bhakre (32) and Sameer Sharma (44) also reportedly committed suicide in the last 30 days, but there isn’t even a whisper about the cases in the corridors of power. But in Sushant’s case, the Chief Minister of Bihar is reported to be responsible for registering an FIR in Patna,” she said in her fresh plea.
The next hearing in the case is scheduled for Tuesday (August 11).
