Bargarh: BJD candidate Rita Sahu will file her nominations on Monday for the ensuing by-election to the Bijepur Assembly constituency scheduled on February 24.
Sources in the party said Sahu will file her nominations before the Returning Officer at the Sub-Collector’s office at Padmapur at about 12 PM in the presence of ministry Sushant Singh and other senior leaders of the party.
Talking to newsmen, Sahu said she will win by a landslide margin in the by-poll. “Whoever is the candidate of the Congress and BJP, it will have no effect on the BJD,” she maintained.
While the BJP candidate Ashok Panigrahi had filed his nominations on January 2, Congress candidate Pranaya Sahu, whose name was announced by the All India Congress Committee (AICC) on January 5 will file his nominations on February 6, the last date for filing nominations.
