Bhubaneswar: Putting an end to all speculation, veteran leader Bijoy Mohapatra on Thursday announced his decision to continue in the BJP.
He will be returning to the saffron party after a gap of 4 months.
Talking to mediapersons after a meeting at his residence here, Mohapatra said he had a discussion with the party’s national vice-president Baijayant Panda and Odisha in-charge Arun Singh. Apart from this, he also had a telephonic conversation with the national president Amit Shah and other central party leaders.
“Since the elections are around the corner, we have decided to launch a statewide campaign and fight unitedly for the change in the government in Odisha,” he added.

To a question on contesting elections, Mohapatra said the Central Election Committee (CEC) of his party will take a decision in this matter.
On November 30, he, along with another BJP national executive member Dilip Ray, had resigned from the party. The 70-year-old veteran had then regretted his decision to join the saffron party in 2009.
