Bike-Borne Miscreants Snatch Jewellery From Woman At Gun-Point in Odisha’s Keonjhar
Keonjhar: In a broad daylight snatching, three bike-borne miscreants took away gold jewellery from a woman at gun-point in Odisha’s Keonjhar district on Saturday.
According to sources, a couple and their daughter were going on a motorcycle when the miscreants intercepted them at Barigaon village under Ghasipura police station in the district in the afternoon. They pointed a gun at them and demanded the woman to give the jewellery.
As the couple resisted them and cried for help, one of the miscreants fired three rounds in the air from a country-made gun. On hearing the firing, a man working in a nearby farmland rushed to the spot with a stick and tried to attack the miscreants. At this time, two miscreants stanched the gold necklace and ear-rings from the woman and fled on their bike.
The family belonging to Jalagaon in Jajpur district was returning home after visiting a relative’s house at Maleiposi in Keonjhar when the incident took place.
“The miscreants stopped our bike by coming in front of us. They took away our bike’s key and threatened us with a country-made gun. As we resisted and shouted for help, a man came to the spot and tried to attack them. But one of them out a knife at the neck of my daughter and threatened to kill her. They snatched my necklace and ear-rings,” the woman told the media.
On being informed about the snatching, a team from Ghasipura police station went to the spot and started investigation.
