Sundargarh: An inter-state bike lifting gang was busted and 14 persons arrested in Sundargarh district on Tuesday.
The police have also seized 13 bikes under their possession.
According to sources, a series of bike stealing incidents have been reported in the district in the last couple of months. Based on the complaint by one Gajendra Mahanandia on February 15, the Sundargarh Superintendent of Police (SP) formed a special squad to nab the looters.
The police conducted raids at several places in the district and arrested the mastermind of the gang Subrat Sekhar Deo. Following the arrest of Deo, other looters were arrested.
The seized bikes will be handed over to the owners after proper verification, informed the Sundargarh SP.
