Bhubaneswar: An Ollywood movie on martyr Jayakrushna Rajguru Mohapatra, popularly known as Jayi Rajguru, of Odisha that will go on the floor next month is set to hit the screens next year.
The poster of the movie titled ‘Rajguru’ was released during the birthday celebration of social worker and actor Chandan Kar at the Satyabhama Devi Deaf and Dumb College in the city recently.
Chandan is the protagonist of the movie, playing the character of Jayi Rajguru. He is also producing the movie.
“This movie will reveal so far unknown chapters in the life of Jayi Rajguru. Besides, it is an effort to bring culture and history of Odisha closer to the people,” said Chandan.
“My friend Debashis and myself have been planning to do this film for quite some time. Though Rajguru was a great freedom fighter and martyr of our state, very little is known about his life, struggle and sacrifices. We want to present those aspects through picturisation on the screen,” he added.
The shooting of the movie will start on October 25. “The pre-production and post-production process will take time. We are yet to finalise the technical team and star casts of the movie. Shooting of most part of the movie will be done in Khurda,” said Chandan.
“It is a periodical movie and we have to prepare a lot before shooting. However, we have targeted to release the movie in February next year,” he said.
