Bhubaneswar: Senior Odisha BJP leader and Dhamnagar MLA Bishnu Sethi passed away on Monday. He was 61.
Sethi breathed his last at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS)-Bhubaneswar, where he was undergoing treatment.
The legislator, who was suffering from kidney-related ailments, was in the ICU of the hospital for the last one month.
Sethi was Deputy Leader of the Opposition in Odisha Assembly and vice-president of state BJP unit.
He was elected to the Assembly from Dhamnagar in 2019 and from Chandbali in 2000. Born in 1961 in Tihidi of Bhadrak district, Sethi was also a poet and writer.
