Bhubaneswar: Filmmaker Biswanath Rath continues to create ripples in the global arena with his multi-award winning short film ‘The ‘Right’ Glass’. This silent film on child rights along with his ad film ‘New Champion’ will be screened at Breaking Waves Film Festival to be held at Freeport in Canada on August 4 and 5.
Following its entry at Kallola Short Film Festival, this film has so far made it to 38 international film festivals, winning accolades from audience across the globe.
“Child labour is a serious issue, which curtail the rights of children. Ignorance among people about this problem has further worsened it. ‘The ‘Right’ Glass’ is an attempt to make everyone realise this harsh reality of our society,” said this Chennai-based Odia director.
Produced under the banner of BnR Films, the film with a social message has traveled to USA, Spain, Italy, UK, France, Australia, Afghanistan, Iraq, Slovenia, Turkey, China, Brazil, Serbia, Kosovo and Bangladesh.
The one-minute ad film ‘New Champion’ explores the happiness of discovering joy in little and unguarded moments, he added.
